Explorations is proud to announce that our Performing Arts Stream for Summer 2021 is funded by the Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers. The English Arts Network (ELAN) is a project supporter. We are happy to announce that 100% of the participants of our Performing Arts Stream are sponsored thanks to the generous donation of the Government of Quebec’s financial contribution for the Covid Relaunch Fund in the arts and culture sector.

School of Rock

School of Rock looks into all aspects of producing a show, as well as examining and reproducing the roots and history of music. This activity is for learners who love music. They will learn about pacing a show, working with limitations, preparing details, and understanding the audience. School of Rock need all types of learners: from techies, to musicians, singers, rappers, dancers and costumers - a whole band! Campers will be involved in all aspects of putting on a live show.

Theatre

Time to sharpen your pencils, dust off your performance shoes and put on your costume – it’s time to get in the spotlight! In our Theatre activity, our learners dive into the world of musicals. They learn about script writing, singing, acting and dancing. During the two weeks, they create a performance together with their own dialogues, favourite music and choreography . From creation to inception, this activity will strengthen their English skills and their acting abilities. This activity is in collaboration with Montreal Children's Theatre.

Thank you to the Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers for funding Explorations’ Performing Arts Stream.
