The Learning Lab is an exciting new step in the history of Explorations. We have created a home for young learners who are eager to challenge themselves and want to meet others who share their passion.
The Learning Lab educators specialize in developing enriching projects, and in providing the necessary foundational skills that develop children’s learning power and grow their potential.

Types of Programs
Enrichments
Enrichments are where we help expand the participant’s knowledge and skill sets. They are focused sessions where our instructor leads them through an exploration of a new topic or idea. Our current Enrichment offerings are 8-month courses that guide learners through complex projects to provide deep learning. In each Enrichment, learners are taught new ideas and skills which they apply directly to their own work, enabling them to develop a high level mastery in the subject.
We have arts Enrichments in classic subjects such as Drawing and Painting, as well as more modern subjects such as animation. We also have technology and engineering Enrichments, such as 3D Printing and Video Game Design. Some of our Enrichments have a more social focus, such as our courses rooted in Minecraft and Dungeons & Dragons. Enrichments such as Chess and Origami are excellent meditative courses that can be both calming and intellectually invigorating at the end of the day.

Open Creation
Our Open Creation program is a unique take on the power of project-based learning. True enrichment requires the freedom to follow our passions, and receive the guidance we need to take our ideas to the next level. During Open Creation sessions, learners are free to work on their own projects, while our instructor provides them with the resources and support they require.
