Since our beginning over 40 years ago as the McGill Summer School for the Gifted, we have stood at the forefront of immersive, experiential summer learning in Montreal.

Our camps focus on educational Activities, which provide young learners access to high-level equipment and knowledge. An expert educator leads each Activity and creates an environment where children and teens can discover new ideas, skills and interests, all while building lifelong friendships.

Explorations Summer Camp is for 5 age groups:

  • Ages 4-5
  • Ages 6-7
  • Ages 8-9
  • Ages 10-11
  • Ages 12-15

Explorations also offers two programs for ages 15-19, our Young Leaders Program (which is run at Kells alongside Summer Camp), and Panorama of Higher Learning (which is run from the McGill campus). See more about our programs for ages 5-19 below.

At Summer Camp in July, younger campers engage in a set of exciting workshops that introduce them to arts, science, and more. Working with a variety of specialists, they are challenged to learn new things and discover the Activities that inflame their passions for creation and knowledge.

Campers in the 10-11 and 12-15 groups create their own learning schedule by selecting three Activities that inspire them, and pursuing those three subjects throughout the 2-week session.
