About Explorations
Explorations is a non-profit educational organization based in Montreal, dedicated to serving youth through inclusive and enriching learning experiences.
Originally established in 1981 by McGill University as a program for gifted children, Explorations has since evolved to embrace a broader, more inclusive vision. In the 1990s, we became a registered charity to ensure that high-quality enrichment opportunities are accessible to all young learners, regardless of background.
Our mission is to empower, inspire, and connect both learners and educators, fostering a vibrant community of curiosity and lifelong learning.

Who you're helping
Each summer, dozens of low-income families rely on Explorations to provide their children with a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment.
These children often struggle in traditional educational settings, and without access to engaging summer activities, they risk spending the season alone at home while their caregivers are at work.
Explorations provides them with social connection, intellectual engagement, and professional instruction: things they simply can’t access elsewhere.
Without financial support, these families simply cannot afford this experience.
Thanks to donors, a student who I work with was able to attend Explorations Spring Camp for free. Without this generosity, the youth would have spent the week with their grandmother with very little stimulation. Instead, they were engaged in activities such as Robotics, Comedy, Music, Video Game Design, and more! The youth was excited to go to camp every day, made new friends and discovered new passions in a supportive environment. I am incredibly grateful that Explorations Camp offered this experience to this student; I know it has been a highlight of their school year!

Why it matters
This year, a major funding cut by the Québec government has left us with a significant shortfall.
For years, we’ve been able to offer fully subsidized spots thanks to public funding and partnerships with school boards and organizations like Réseau Réussite Montréal.
Without new support, we won’t be able to offer free access to the families who rely on it most.

The subsidized kids had a wonderful time at your camp, and we believe in the important educational impact of your camp.

How your donation helps
Your donation directly supports over two dozen low-income families who otherwise can’t afford camp tuition. It gives their children access to a safe, enriching space where they can learn, socialize, and grow throughout the summer.
Every dollar goes toward keeping class sizes small, paying professional teachers, and maintaining the tools and materials that make this experience so unique.
Parents consistently tell us how much better their children do in school after a summer with Explorations, and this positive impact is especially strong for our underprivileged students.
I have no words to express how grateful I am... I was delighted to see the students participating enthusiastically in your presentation and the hands-on activity. They were avidly learning the concepts. They were so happy to produce their projects!

For my kids, Explorations was transformative. They attended from age 6 to 17 starting in the 90’s, and now that they are adults, I can see how their experiences at Explorations made a huge impact.
My son wouldn’t have done anything of interest for those 4 weeks in July. At Explorations, he was learning and growing socially every day! He loved performance activities, which helped him to excel at his class presentations, interviews, and now business presentations. More than the skills, he says that Explorations is where he found his love of learning, which led to his PhD! It certainly helped him get there.
My daughter gained a world of confidence in their Self-Defense class. She also loved the social aspects: all kinds of kids get along at Explorations. For children who normally struggle to fit in, Explorations is a miraculously welcoming and accepting space. She says that she was inspired by that experience of social integration, and now she works as an aid for students.
