The Counsellor-In-Training Program is a stepping stone from being a camper to working as a Camp Counsellor. Over five weeks, CITs will shadow experienced Counsellors and Educators and learn what it takes to work with children.
There will also be a separate training week prior to the start of camp, which includes workshops touching on conflict resolution, workplace safety and diversity and inclusion, as well as more targeted exercises for aspiring Counsellors. Training will also cover broader career skills, such as CV writing, interview skills and more.
Participants will receive an small honorarium to reward them for completing the program, but this is not an hourly-paid position (as it is primarily a training program). Participants will develop skills and competencies over the span of five weeks that can be reinvested for future job opportunities, and prepare them to be a Camp Counsellor in the years to come.
Please send us an email (info@explorationslearning.com) and we will guide you through the application process. You can apply up to the last day of April.
Requirements:
CITs must be available for a mandatory training week from June 23 to June 27 (full days), and minimally for the entire month of July (half days). Applicants must 14 years old or older in July 2025.
