We are always looking for passionate, dynamic Educators and Counsellors to be part of our growing team and community. At Explorations, we believe that empowered Educators are the cornerstone of a meaningful learning experience and in recognition of this, we offer our instructional team and support staff great working conditions and compensation.
In addition to their core training, Counsellors receive paid training on workplace safety, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, problem-solving and First Aid to ensure that our camp is both physically and emotionally safe.
To apply for current and future employment opportunities, please reach out to us by email (info@explorationslearning.com) and we will guide you throughout the application process. You will be asked to provide a CV and all successful applicants will go through a standardized interview.
Camp Counsellor Requirements
Counsellors must be available for a week of mandatory training from June 29 to July 3, and minimally for the entire month of July. Priority will be given to applicants with availability in August as well.
The Counsellor positions are graciously sponsored by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. As such, applicants need to be under the age of 30 and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have been granted refugee status in Canada.
The majority of Counsellors are post-secondary students in fields related to care and nurturing youth. Many are university students from the McGill Education Department, and we also have Counsellors who are completing degrees in fields such as Nursing and Art Therapy. By hiring mature Counsellors with relevant training, we ensure the highest quality of care and supervision for our campers.
