Happy Intergenerational Week in Québec!
Exploration is proud to be celebrating “Friendship Has No Age” this year, organizing an Intergenerational Storytime with our community members from the West-End Intergenerational Network (WIN). This project was organized by the English Montreal School Board Spiritual and Community Animation (SCA) Service, Explorations, Gay & Grey Montreal, minibiblioPLUS, and Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds (PCP). Our project was featured on CBC News.
On May 25th, 2021 senior volunteers read selected books from the Montreal West Children’s Library and minibiblioPLUS collections to children via Zoom. Explorations very own Rana and Adam got to animate educational workshops with the children and seniors, initiating dialogue, leading movement classes and creating fun arts & craft projects.
The books we read were Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, And Tango Makes Three, Auntie Uncle, The Adventures of Honey & Leon, Miss Tizzy.
Previous NextExplorations would like to thank all the senior volunteers for participating in our Intergenerational Storytime, joining us from Contactivity Centre, minibiblioPLUS, YMCA NDG and the West-End Intergenerational Network.
Thank you to the Montreal West Children’s Library and minibiblioPLUS for providing the books from their library collections.
And a big thank you to the English Montreal School Board Spiritual and Community Animation (SCA) Service, Gay & Grey Montreal, minibiblioPLUS, and Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds (PCP) for helping organize this great initiative for “Friendship Has No Age” day in Quebec.
