Wednesday afternoon, July 17, Explorations Camp received two very special visitors; The Honorable Minister of Transport, Mr. Marc Garneau and Margaret Guest, Constituency Assistant, Notre-Dame-de Grace-Westmount. They had requested a visit given Mr. Garneau’s interest in the teaching of Robotics, Kids Coding and STEAM activities (a combination of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). Mr. Garneau’s office has supported Explorations, these past two years, by endorsing our Canada Summer Jobs applications which have allowed us to engage five remarkable college-level students to assist with Camp Administration.
A comprehensive tour of the Camp was led by Maya Radhakrishna (UBC) and Leon Yu (McGill) both of whom were previous Canada Summer Jobs recipients and Mr. James Feith, Explorations Camp Director. Mr. Garneau commented on the impressive diversity of activities offered at the Camp and was quite gracious with his overall appraisal of Explorations.
The tour concluded with final words and photographs taken at the end of a very special and much-appreciated visit.
