The Panorama of Arts and Culture represents an outstanding opportunity for both local and International teenagers to experience and share the arts and cultural scene in Montreal. This is a “hands-on”, “feet on the ground” activity that does not rely on screens, smartphones or tablets but rather requires active participation in an authentic “real-time” experience.

The Panorama of Arts and Culture (PAC) module offers an unparalleled authentic Montreal experience. Participants assemble daily at McGill’s Roddick Gates (Sherbrooke Street and McGill College Avenue) to then set off to chosen sites and activities that best represent the Arts and Cultural scene in Montreal and the surrounding area. Led by McGill graduate, musician and local private school teacher Leon Yu, participants will visit museums, galleries, theatre and performance locales, film and music studios as well as outdoor music and performance venues.

Participants will meet local artists and performers and have the opportunity to discuss the challenges and rewards of engaging in the pursuit of creative expression. PAC participants will develop a greater appreciation of what it is to self-identify as an artist.

Sites to visit will include; la Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Maison Symphonique, the McGill Conservatory, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The National Film Board Studios, Quartier des Spectacles, the Fine Arts departments, galleries and studios at Concordia and Dawson College and the McGill Conservatory of Music, as well as other locations to be confirmed later.

Most of the sites we will visit will be within walking distance or a short bus ride away from our downtown morning meeting place. Occasionally, we (will) may hire a local charter company so that we can access more distant sites and venues.

At the end of each session, campers and their families will be provided an album of photos, video clips, and highlights to be shared as a family.
