Here’s one to wrap your head around! Can you find the next number in this sequence?
It’s not as easy as it looks! This is the popular sequence of numbers known as the “Spoiler Alert” Look-and-say sequence (Also, sometimes the Morris Number Sequence). To find the next member of the sequence, you have to look at the previous one and describe it.
For example:
1 – One one (so I write 11 on the next line)
11 – Two ones (so I write 21 on the next line)
21 – One two, One One (so I write 1211 on the next line)
This continues infinitely (or as long as you feel like doing it), but the number we were looking for is 111221! You can learn more about this sequence on the wikipedia page.
