Explorations is proud to be working with the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to encourage early literacy and parent involvement. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income.

Supported by the generous donations of the Explorations’ community, these books will forward Explorations’ primary goal of creating an environment where learning is enjoyable, meaningful and diverse.
With a donation of $45, you can secure the gift of FREE BOOKS for a child for a whole year.

This program is open to children under the age of 5 within the registered communities.
Yes! These books are your child’s to keep forever! Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library creates a love of book ownership and encourages a love of reading as an everyday activity. For many children, these will be the first books they will own. Children are very excited to receive their own book in the mail and see their own name on the mailing label. This helps to encourage their enthusiasm about reading the books.
The first book will arrive approximately 8 to 10 weeks after registration.
After receiving the first book, a new book will arrive every month until a child’s fifth birthday.
The child’s parent or legal guardian can register them for this program.
All books will be delivered by Canada Post to the address provided.
As long as children are under the age of 5 and available in their community, they are eligible for the program. Each eligible child will receive their own book each month. To register more than one child, simply repeat the registration process by filling out the form for each child.
No. Registration is ongoing. Please keep in mind that only children under the age of 5 are eligible to receive books. If a child is older than 5 at the time of registration, they will not be eligible for the program.
No. At the time of registration, the birthdate of your child must be today’s date or a date in the past.
